Coco Significantly Expands Flagship Grain Exchange Location to Serve Growing Demand

Enhanced space brings new amenities to popular collaborative workspace

MINNEAPOLIS (Sept. 15, 2016) – Coco, the upper Midwest’s leading provider of coworking and collaborative spaces, is in expansion mode. Due to increased interest in and demand for collaborative workspaces, Coco is expanding its footprint at the downtown Minneapolis Grain Exchange building. The 15,000 square-foot space expansion will include the build out of coworking spaces, dedicated individual and team workspaces and suites accommodating an additional 250 people. The new workspaces, features and amenities are expected to be available in 2017.
“This expansion is equivalent to the opening of a new location for us, in terms of the space we will occupy and the dedicated space options we are building for members. We’re excited to be making substantial enhancements at our flagship location and giving the spacious and historic trading floor space a fresh look as well,” said Coco CEO and co-founder Kyle Coolbroth.“Over the past few years, we’ve learned a lot about what entrepreneurs and small businesses want and need in a work environment and this new build out and updates to our spaces will reflect that.” In addition, Coco will be creating a unique event space on the historic trading floor, which will be available for groups to rent on select evenings and weekends.
Coco’s Grain Exchange location, based at 400 South 4th Street (Suite 401), is the ideal spot for expansion, given the growing demand for flexible office space downtown, the sustained growth of entrepreneurial small businesses and the emerging popularity of the new Downtown East district. The new build out, annexed to the original downtown coworking space on the fourth floor, is specifically designed to address the unique needs of small businesses and startups. The expansion will accommodate up to 23 new businesses geared at 2-10 person teams, as well as more dedicated individual desks, and functional and creative collaborative workspaces and meeting rooms throughout the building. Additional amenities such as a private mother’s room are included in the build out, and the overall atmosphere will be one that also functions as a gathering space for member activities. By offering these important upgrades and innovations, Coco continues to lead the way in responding to the ever-changing workforce.
